I had my first 6-figure year as an internet marketer in 2013. I was 23 years old at the time, and the wild part was… I wasn’t even that good.

Because in 2013, it wasn’t difficult to sell stuff online.

Ads were cheap, sales funnels were new, and people were excited about the ability to buy products and services right from the comfort of their own homes.

Today, that’s no longer the case. And here's why:

#1: Ads are no longer cheap.

That doesn’t necessarily mean they no longer work. We still use them in our process to this day, and we’ll show you our strategy for that inside the book.

However, what that does mean is that you can no longer throw up a basic, one-sentence ad and expect to be profitable.

#2: Sales funnels are no longer new.

The market is much more sophisticated today than 7 or 8 years ago (or even 2-3 years ago).

Using a sales funnel on its own is no longer a strategic advantage because everybody has one.

#3: [Most Importantly] People are jaded. 



Regardless of the niche you’re in right now, the majority of the people inside of it have bought products, services, programs in the past similar to yours and they didn’t work.

So people are more protective over whom they choose to work with than ever before.

As a business owner, you must understand and accept that the world is less trusting, more skeptical, and less likely to part with their money.

Whether you use cold outreach, webinars, or any other method for getting clients, it’s a tougher world.

On top of the increased skepticism, your dream client has more choices than ever. More people are offering products or services that are nearly identical to what you offer than any other time.

The barrier of entry is lower than ever before. Anyone with a few bucks and a will to learn can become a “high ticket coach” or agency owner.

Your dream prospects have already been pitched and sold to dozens of times. By the time they show up to your marketing campaign, they’ve heard it all before.
